SANCTUARY AND PRAYER

WHERE
IS JESUS NOW?

WHERE DO OUR PRAYERS GO?

WHEN JESUS LEFT HIS DISCIPLES
STANDING AND LOOKING UP, WHERE DID HE GO?

JESUS ASENDING 2.jpg

6 Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”  7 He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

9 After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.  10 They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 11 “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”   ACTS 1:6 - 11

THE ANGELS SANG AS THEY TRAVELED WITH JESUS FROM THE EARTH TO THE HEAVENLY SANCTUARY

Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. 8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in  battle. 9 Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. 10 Who is he, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty he is the King of glory. PSALMS 24:7 - 10

All heaven was waiting to welcome the Saviour to the celestial courts. As He ascended, He led the way, and the multitude of captives set free at His resurrection followed. The heavenly host, with shouts and acclamations of praise and celestial song, attended the joyous train. As they drew near to the city of God, the challenge is given by the escorting angels,  “Lift up your heads, O ye gates; And be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; And the King of glory shall come in.”

Joyfully the waiting sentinels respond, “Who is this King of glory?” This they say, not because they know not who He is, but because they would hear the answer of exalted praise,  “The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle! Lift up your heads, O ye gates; Even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; And the King of glory shall come in.”

Again is heard the challenge, “Who is this King of glory?” for the angels never weary of hearing His name exalted. The escorting angels make reply, “The Lord of hosts; He is the King of glory.” Psalm 24:7-10.

Then the portals of the city of God, (New Jerusalem, Heavenly Sanctuary) are opened wide, and the angelic throng sweep through the gates amid a burst of rapturous music. There is the throne, and around it the rainbow of promise. There are cherubim and seraphim. The commanders of the angel hosts, the sons of God, the representatives of the unfallen worlds, are assembled. The heavenly council before which Lucifer had accused God and His Son, the representatives of those sinless realms over which Satan had thought to establish his dominion, all are there to welcome the Redeemer. They are eager to celebrate His triumph and to glorify their King.  DESIRE OF AGES PAGE 833

AS JESUS ENTERED THE NEW JERUSALEM, WHERE DID HE GO?
JESUS WENT TO THE CENTER OF THE CITY WHERE HIS THRONE IS

Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. 2 And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe. 3 The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the Throne Room of God, the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic Father in heaven, New Jerusalem. 4 This shows that the Son is far greater than the angels, just as the name God gave him is greater than their names. Hebrews 1:1 - 4

14 So then, since we have Jesus our great High Priest who has entered heaven, New Jerusalem, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. 15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. 16 So let us come boldly in prayer, to the Throne of our gracious God, located inside of New Jerusalem. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Hebrews 4:14 - 16

But now Jesus, our High Priest, has been given a ministry that is far superior to the old priesthood, for he is the one who mediates for us a far better covenant with God, based on better promises. Hebrews 8:6

MY QUESTION FOR YOU IS, WHERE IS JESUS RIGHT NOW?
DO YOU KNOW WHERE TO GO TO FIND JESUS, AND HOW TO GET THERE?

WHEN YOU PRAY WHERE SHOULD YOUR MIND, THOUGHTS, AND IMAGINATION BE?

Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, 2 a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man.  HEBREWS 8:1, 2

11. So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come. Jesus has entered into a greater and more perfect Tabernacle in heaven, New Jerusalem, which was not made by human hands and is not part of this created world. 12. With his own blood, not the blood of goats and calves, he entered the Most Holy Place located in the center of New Jerusalem, once for all time and secured our redemption forever.

13. Under the old system of Moses, the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer could cleanse people’s bodies from ceremonial impurity. 14. Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the Eternal Holy Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice and lamb for our sins, so that we can become perfect through Jesus. Hebrews 9:11 - 14

“God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Calvary is the estimate that Heaven has placed upon the human soul. God gave Jesus, the richest gift of Heaven, to pay the ransom price for the human family. If the veil could be drawn aside, and we could look into eternity, we should see that which would change our opinions and our actions. We should see the glory of Jesus Christ, who is in the high and holy place, surrounded by seraphim and cherubim, with angels and principalities waiting to do his bidding. We should see that there is no heavenly being indifferent to the joys and woes of any one of the human family. BEcho Jan. 8,1894, page 30. par 1

NOW THAT YOU KNOW WHERE I AM,

COME, COME UP TO MY THRONE IN PRAYER BY FAITH.

Give to the Lord the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come before Him.

Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!  1 Chronicles 16:29

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO SEE JESUS WHERE HE IS?

Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  Hebrews 12:2

The seraphim dwelt in the presence of Jesus, yet they vailed with their wings their faces and their feet. They looked upon the King in His beauty, and covered themselves. When Isaiah saw the glory of God, his soul was prostrated in the dust. Because of the unclouded vision he was graciously permitted to behold, he was filled with self-abasement. This will ever be the effect upon the human mind when

the beams of the Sun of Righteousness shine gloriously upon the soul....

As the increasing glory of Christ is revealed, the human agent will see no glory in himself; for the concealed deformity of his soul is laid bare, and self-esteem and self-glorying are extinguished. Self dies, and Christ lives.— BE&The Signs of the Times, December 3, 1894

IN HEAVEN GODS GOLDEN THRONE IS THE HEAVENLY VERSION OF THE ARK OF THE COVENANT

14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace(the Mercy Seat which is the lid / cover of Ark of the Covenant), that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.  HEBREWS 4:14 - 16

Psalm 29:2

Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name;
Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

Psalm 96:9

Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!
Tremble before Him, all the earth.

Revelation 4:11

“You are worthy, O Lord,
To receive glory and honor and power;
For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”

The matchless splendor of the earthly tabernacle reflected to human vision the glories of that heavenly temple where Christ our forerunner ministers for us before the throne of God. The abiding-place of the King of kings, where thousand thousands minister unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stand before him; [Daniel 7:10.]
that temple, filled with the glory of the eternal throne, where seraphim, its shining guardians, veil their faces in adoration, could find, in the most magnificent structure ever reared by human hands, but a faint reflection of its vastness and glory. Yet important truths concerning the heavenly sanctuary and the great work there carried forward for man's redemption, were taught by the earthly sanctuary and its services.
