What is Gods plan for your life? God takes you as you are and shows you what He would like you to be and do. If we trust him to run our lives based on his love for us, then your life and lifestyle will begin to change by the power of his Holy Spirit.

  1. Is God the Creator of all things?

  2. Are we to be the caretakers of the things that God created and made?

  3. Can we do what we want, with the things that does not belong to us?

  4. Should we ask the owners permission before we start changing, destroying, redesigning, improving, remodeling, remaking, adding, or subtracting?

  5. Did God give us rules on what we can and cannot do with his property and creation?

  6. What will God do if we ignore his guidelines and do whatever we want with his creation?

  7. What would you do if after you spent all your hard earned money to buy your house and car, someone just came one night while you were sleeping and repainted your $700, 000 house and $45, 000 car, hot pink inside and out and decided to also change the original design of them? What would you say? What would you do?

Adam and Eves Job was to be Caretakers “Tend and Keep” All of God’s Creation.

8The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. 9And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. 15Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. Genesis 2:8, 9, 15

God Created Our Bodies for Him to Live and Dwell In and We Should "Tend and Keep It"

19 Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, 20 for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.    17 God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple. 1 Corinthians 3:17

God Changes Us from the Inside Out So We Can be Reflections of Jesus

"And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commands all men everywhere to repent." Acts 17:30, 31  Why? "Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness. “The power of the gospel begins on the inside, transforming the heart while unseen by human eyes. But then it continues to flow and seep into every area of the life, producing obvious external changes. Just like a plant, the seed first comes to life below the earth. But if the root is healthy, the plant will soon become visible and bear fruit above ground. Jesus said, "By their fruits ye shall know them." Matthew 7:20.  Notice that He did not say you will know them by their roots that grow underground. He said the fruit, not the root! Therefore, we are commanded to be aware of the external, visible evidence of our faith that shows by what we do, eat, wear, and say.

We are to Reflect, Wear, and Demonistrate the Fathers Love, that we have Experienced in Our Life?

We have been sent into the world to demonstrate who Jesus is and what He is like. Through the Holy Spirit we become His representatives to reflect His image in everything from the way we eat, talk, work, dress or what we put in or on our bodies (jewelry, tattoos, earrings, nose rings etc. In 2 Corinthians 3:18, God says that "we all ... are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."  "And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God." 2 Corinthians 6:16.

Does God Tell Us What to do with Our Bodies (Sexually)?

18 But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. 19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. 20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. 22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. 23 And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.

24 So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. 25 They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. 26 That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex with men and instead indulged in sex with other and women. 27 And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other and other men. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.

28 Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. 29 Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. 30 They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. 31 They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. 32 They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. Romans 1:18 – 32

What Does Pride and Jewelry do to Our Sinful Natures?

Notice what God told the prophet Isaiah about jewelry and fancy clothing. "Moreover the Lord says: 'Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, And walk with outstretched necks And wanton [seductive] eyes, Walking and mincing [swaying] as they go, ...' In that day the Lord will take away the finery: The jingling anklets, the scarves, and the crescents; The pendants, the bracelets, and the veils; The headdresses, the leg ornaments, and the headbands; The perfume boxes, the charms, and the rings; The nose jewels, the festal apparel, and the mantles; The outer garments, the purses, and the mirrors; The fine linen, the turbans, and the robes." , NKJV. A woman in Bible prophecy symbolizes a church. In this prophecy, the women (churches) were to be severely judged because of their pride, which is directly connected with external adornment.

What did Pride, Jewelry and Sin do to Lucifer?

Is this a Lesson for us to Remember?

Pride of appearance was a large factor in Lucifer's fall and rebellion. When God originally created Lucifer as a perfect angel, He gave every precious stone as his garments-"the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold."

“How you have fallen from heaven, O shining one, son of the morning! You have been cut down to the earth, you who have made the nations weak! 13 You said in your heart, ‘I will go up to heaven. I will raise my throne above the stars of God. And I will sit on the mount of meeting in the far north. 14 I will go much higher than the clouds. I will make myself like the Most High.’ 15 But you will be brought down to the place of the dead, to the bottom of the grave. 16 Those who see you will look hard at you and think about you, and say, ‘Is this the man who made the earth shake with fear, who shook nations? 17 Is this the man who made the world like a desert and destroyed its cities, who did not let those whom he had put in prison go home?’ Isaiah 14:12-17

Exterior Vs. Interior

Because we are born with sin inside us which is a desire to disobey God and do our own thing, we continually wrestle with sin and temptation. The supreme goal of the Christian is to attract attention to Christ, not to self. Decorating our mortal bodies with glittering gems and minerals usually springs from pride and is diametrically opposed to the Holy Spirit and principles Jesus taught while on the earth. "And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."  "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up".  James 4:10

What Did God Tell The Israelites to do with their remaining Jewelry and the Golden Calf that was made from their Jewelry?

"And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me. And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron. And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt."

After the golden calf experience, God commanded the people to remove their jewelry lest they be consumed. " 5 For the Lord had told Moses to tell them, “You are a stubborn and rebellious people. If I were to travel with you for even a moment, I would destroy you. Remove your jewelry and fine clothes while I decide what to do with you.” 6 So from the time they left Mount Sinai, the Israelites wore no more jewelry or fine clothes. Exodus 33:5, 6.

Because of the Peoples Refusal to Stop Wearing or be Affected by their Jewelry, What did Moses Tell them to do with the Golden Calf Made from their Jewelry?

19 As soon as Moses came near the tents, he saw the calf and the dancing. Moses became very angry. He threw the stone writings(Ten Commandments) from his hands and broke them at the base of the mountain. 20 And he took the calf they had made and burned it with fire, ground it to dust, spread it over the top of the water, and made the people of Israel drink it. 21 Then Moses said to Aaron, “What did this people do to you to make you bring such great sin upon them?”  Exodus 32:19-21

What did the Israelites do with their Remaining Jewelry or Newly Acquired Jewelry?

What Should We do with our Jewelry After Giving Our Life To Jesus?

When the children of Israel brought an offering to the Lord to build the tabernacle, they used the jewels they had received from the Egyptians. It was their money. "And they came, both men and women, as many as were willing hearted, and brought bracelets, and earrings, and rings, and tablets, all jewels of gold: and every man that offered an offering of gold unto the Lord."

Does God Approve When We Change His House(Our Body) and Pierce, Write and Carve things into it?

"Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are." 1 Corinthians 3:16, 17. In essence, you should not poke holes in priceless marble. Our bodies are to be holy, not full of holes.

Should anyone pierce, scar, chain, mutilate, and tattoo their bodies as a sacrifice to their desire, pleasure, or gods of fad and fashion. God plainly says of His people who are holy like the priests in Moses day. We are Holy because God lives in our bodies: " 5 They shall not make any bald place on their heads, nor shall they shave the edges of their beards nor make any cuttings in their flesh. 6 They shall be holy to their God and not profane the name of their God, for they offer the offerings of the Lord made by fire, and the bread of their God; therefore they shall be holy. Leviticus 21:5, 6.

Who’s Example Should we Follow in Order to Live our life?

When we love Jesus, we will want to follow His example. "He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked." 1 John 2:6, NKJV.

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Romans 12:1, 2.

Taking up our cross and following Jesus is much more challenging than wearing a bumper sticker, tee shirt, little golden cross chain, ear ring, nose ring, tattoes, or jewelry. Jesus said that bearing the cross means a Christian will "deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me." Luke 9:23. Your love for Jesus is shown when we honor and take care of his temple or house which is our bodies. The opposite is also true writing or drawing on the walls of Gods house, putting holes in the building, eating whatever you want is disrespectful and shows a lack of love for Jesus. But you must choose what to do based on your relationship and love for God.

The Holy Spirit Will Help You And Guide You As You Make Decisions about Your Body and Your Love For Jesus

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.  2 Corinthians 13:14
